*The Eastern-Siberia Moose:
The Eastern-Siberia Moose inhabits Kamchatka, with a population of about 2000 animals living in central Kamchatka peninsula and 2500 animals in the north. A mature bull weights approximately 650 kg (1430 pounds); the average antlers spread is 160 cm (63 inch). The biggest moose taken by our client in December, 1997 was 69.1 inches.
*There are 2 periods of moose hunting in Kamchatka:
-from September, 15 (during rut season) on call;
-from November,10 till December,20 in snow.
In September the hunting takes place early in the morning and in the evening. Some of our camps have horses for your use. In September the temperature ranges from 50 to 60°F, it may rain, so you may need waterproof clothes.
In November-December the bulls move in-groups. There is usually snow at this time and the tracks are visible. To track the snowmobiles may be used. Also you may walk or ski (if you are more experienced with snowshoes, we recommend you use them) stalking makes the hunt.
All our hunting camps are well kept. Accommodations in cabins are comfortable, heated and spacious. In most camps there are saunas for your comfort. |
Our professional staff takes special care of our clients and will make your stay enjoyable and memorable. You will have an abundance of Russian homestyle food in camp.
An interpreter will accompany you during your entire stay, both in the city and in the field. You will have your own experienced guide who has excellent knowledge of wild life in the area and will assist you in harvesting your trophy Moose.
*Recomendation for hunters:
We recommend you have thermal but not heavy clothing, windbreaker type clothing, and waterproof clothes, white camouflage, (but no rustling clothing,) thermal waterproof boots, and binoculars.
Recommended rifle caliber — 300-375.
